I would have tried to catch it but I didn't think it was big enough to keep?!? What's the size limit for gators in Michigan!?! Anyone know??

Had a weird morning fishing catching the smallest slop bass I've ever caught on a topwater frog-type lure, heard the 'words' scerd, yall and fixin within a 20 minute time period, and then right after having half the pad field hump up under my Horny Toad but no strike, I find this critter in the pads!! I left the lake early. Didn't know what was next...

I thought so for about a minute until I got close to the side of it and noticed the teeth... it's a great fake alligator for whomever put it there. Some trickster.

I actually saw an alligator in Michigan water . A few years ago I was fishing at Lange park in Taylor and saw something move at my topwater . I cast back again and again because it kept swinging at it and I couldn't tell what it was . It eventually followed the bait and I got a good look . It was only about 30" but an alligator. My brother was a cop in Taylor , I told him about it and they closed the park for three days until the DNR caught it . Obviously someones pet that they let go .

That's what I thought I was dealing with from the back until I got around the side and saw the eyes and teeth. A good fake, but a fake. I imagine people sitting in the house right there watching me and everyone else who comes along fishing the pads...

I've seen those. They are for homeowners that dislike geese and ducks shootting everywhere.

djkimmel

Do they work? I wouldn't think a duck or goose would care...??

Supposedly they are deathly afraid of them. Makes sense, I'm sure a bunch get eaten while wintering in the south.

djkimmel

I can't say I did or didn't see ducks or geese around this thing but then I was there too and some ducks and geese are afraid of me though I mostly eat pizzas and cheeseburgers... I would think a goose could kills a small alligator like this maybe? I'm sure a swan could. Some mute swans have real attitude.

I had some chase me in the boat last year.  The nest was close by and the dad was all over my tail.

Swans or alligators..?

We had to boat very close by a pappa swan yesterday with 2 youngsters and we all kept very watchful eyes on each. No one ended up getting hurt...

I've fished around gators. It's kinda fun. Watch your lucky spinnerbaits though!!
