Hey all,
Time for a meeting?  Usually we seem to have one in November.  Here's a possibility:

Buffalo Wild Wings in Novi
Saturday, Nov. 17 at 6pm

How about we make this one "wives and kids welcome" so that we can meet the families?  Just a thought.  Or we can just do club guys too.

Thoughts?

That sounds good to me.  I like the idea of having the wife and kids there to meet the other "fishing widows".

I am into this.  However, Sat. the 17th may not bode well for me.  I'm pretty sure I'll be out celebrating my folks' 35th Wedding Anniversary.  Don't change the date on my account though.  If most all can make it this day, let's do it.

I should be back from a long trip on the 16th so this "should" be fine for me.

Maybe something early in december would work better? I'm up for either, but Christmas shopping might be an incentive for my wife. Unless there is still open watwer on Kent, then all bets are off.

Personally, I am fine with we hold off and have a meeting in January, after the holidays.  Personally, I'm partial to having a meeting at like a BW3 early on in the month, say, the date of the College Football National Championship Game, cause I'm a bit of a football fan, and would love to eat some wings, chat fishing some, and then watch some of the game together... Willing to travel to Novi for that, or whatever as well.  Just a thought.  Don't know what day that game is, but It's probably during a week.

I'm open to December, but usually the schedule for me around the time leading into the holidays gets pretty hectic pretty quick (past years anyway) so I don't want to say for sure.  But I wouldn't rule out being at a meeting in December if one was agreed to by the majority of the group.

Heck, if we waited until January, we could always have a meeting around the kickoff of the Novi Show or something if y'all wanted.  That might be a fun way for us all to hang out!

guys - my suggestion would be either Fri night  11/30, or Sat 12/1.  I think we should get together and just brainstorm for next season.  I'm personally not thrilled with BW3's, but theres gotta be a good sports bar someplace - maybe on the east side - Gilberts?  Mack or Harper  I think between 8/9 - not a bad choice.

We have lots to go over as far as ideas for eveyone to think about(format, lakes, schedule...), then we can discuss the results sometime in Jan/Feb.  Maybe a superbowl or Daytona 500 party perhaps?

I agree with steve, with the Holidays Nov/Dec may not have as good a turnout compared to waiting until Jan. I like the idea of meeting around the Novi show.

Im going to vote in the last Friday in Nov 30th or Dec 1st Sat evening sounds great. I like bringing the widows and kids. I have left over lures from being the kids NBAA Director and can make grab bags.

I also agree on nixing the BW3 in favor of a house. I can offer my house up in February - I throw a Daytona 500 party every year so ya'll would be more than welcome to join.

PS: This is my last week to fish. I am available any day this week or weekend - I am dieing to get on Erie, Detroit River South Shore one more time. If anyone is ready - I'm rarin to throw my fall arsenal !!!
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

yukonjack2

Just something else to throw out there- If we are interested in Being TBF affiliated next year, the roster and $$$ need to be turned in by 12/31/07.  I got the details at the board meeting today, and we need to meet to discuss sometime before year end.  I go back t my previous post for options - let me know.

I agree with the sometime in January idea.

Between deer season, Christmas, and all the other stuff happening in my life right now, January already sounds close as it is.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I'd love to meet late Nov. or early Dec. also, but it's looking like quite a few guys wouldn't make it.  So it's kind of looking like January would work best.  Until then, if anyone wants to get together just for fun, how about a pool, darts, cards, and hot tub night at my place?  I'm open any Friday night pretty much.  Some Saturdays as well.

I could do Saturday December 1st right now.  If we call it a day, I can do it.  I do see also that there are a few who prefer meeting after the holidays, and several who haven't chimed in, but I do agree that Jack has a valid point that if we want to be TBF next year, we've got to be turned in by year's end.   Maybe we ought to get a census of who wants to be TBF and get those guys to meet together particularly between now & Christmas to collect the necessary $$$ and get turned in if we are going to stay TBF.

I don't have a preference on TBF, since I didn't really sign up for it last year, or fish anything related to it, but I'd be interested to hear about those that participated with TBF at all and what they're experience was this past year.

I would like to see us stay a TBF club.  I probably won't be in it this year though myself though I'll stay an FLW member.  Unless I need to be TBF to fish the BFL's.  Anyone know if I need to be?

Tom:

you only need to be FLW to fish the BFL's.  The TBF is only if you want to fish the state Championship and the divisional - with a chance to go to the All american and the forest wood cup.
