Im heading out to Erie this weekend (Sat) does anyone have a idea what the water temps are or have been lately? I have never fished the river down by Elizabeth except for eyes in the spring. I was thinking of fishing the island that you can see from the free bridge to the south.
If anyone is in that area give me a shout. Im in the old deep vee tracker hopefully wacking them good.

Big dog- Do you have that boat ready yet? I know your always looking to go to Erie ;D

I might be out there as well.  It depends on the weather and the wife. : ;D  Actually mostly the weather.  I'm trying to see if I can get a few of the EBA guys to come out that day too.  We'll see what happens.  Right now they're calling for NW winds, not too heavy, so it might not be too bad.

Haven't got my boat back yet.  Should be getting it back tomorrow or Friday.........I hope.  Can not make it on Saturday, but plan on going on Sunday.  Actually I was actually thinking of fishing the Hot Pond on Sunday.  If I can get a water temp report for Canadian waters of Lake Erie and they are in the low fifties, the north shore of Canada could be the ticket.  It is usually pretty good when the water temps are falling through the fifties into the high forties.  I have been keeping an eye on NOAA Coast Watch and noticed it looked pretty muddy out there.  Lots and lots of wind lately.  Coast Watch shows satellite pictures of the Great Lakes.  St. Clair is pretty muddy too.  Hot Pond is a great option.  Largemouths in the bay and smallies at the mouth.

Thanks for the info. My best bet will more than likely be Belleville yet again.. :(  those crasy fish have to come on sometime. The water there was about 57 last Saturday. The lake looked like it had not turned over yet?

Big wind and big waves.  They must have thought we had a bass tournament scheduled.  Ha, joke's on them.

The north shore should be thoroughly muddy.  Coffee with cream!!! :'(  Hot Pond could still be a go with a west wind.  If Belleville was 57 last week then....it could be excellent this weekend.  Ford could be good too.  Optimal for these lakes is 48 to 55.  Fish on points....ones you can see as well as can't see.  The ones that you can't see are the ones that are usually the best on Belleville and Ford.  If it is too windy I will be at Belleville or Ford.  Looks like the boat will be ready tomorrow.    ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Belleville sounds like fun, but I've never been there.  Can someone post a map to the launch?  I may try to make it out there Saturday if I get a back seater to come with me.

Take I94 west to Haggerty Road.  Exit Haggerty and turn left (south).  Take Haggerty to Huron River Drive.  Right on Huron River Drive (west).  Follow Huron River Drive.  It will be about two miles or so down on the right.  The west launch on Belleville maybe easier to get to.  Take I94 west to Rawsonville Road.  Exit Rawsonville Road and turn left (south).  Follow Rawsonville Road.  You will cross over a bridge which is where the Huron River enters the lake.  Just past the bridge on the left is the entrance to the DNR Launch.

I went to Erie today with my neighbor down the street Slammin' Dave.  Not many boats out there.  Perch fishermen.  Will write a report in the Erie report forum when I get a chance.
