BPS sale hit me hard today..

Well,went to the sale today...It is something when you spend 400 dollars and only walk out of there with 2 small bags of stuff...All baits, line, terminal tackle....Some good deals, it is just makes me shake my head when I look at those bags...I think I spent over 100 dollars on line..Some of it I will get back with rebates..I was going to buy a Curado and a Loomis or Shimano rod today, but they wouldn't give me my Military discount...You have to be there between the 15-22..That would have been nice, could have saved me around 40 bucks, plus what I would have saved on the rod and reel..Things were very organized today and they had plenty of staff to help out..I will be back in there over the next couple of weeks hitting the daily sales...

Everyone who goes, please share your thouthgs.  I have to decide wheter it's worth it to make the 4 hour trip next weekend or not.

BPS HIt me hard 2 Spent a little over 300. But Got my nephew a good deal On his first shotgun so all in all I guess it's Ok until the wife finds out LOL.

eric,  with the price of gas, i do not think it will be worth the 4 hour trip... you would be better paying a little more closer to you, or just buy the stuff when you are closer to the area.. just my opinion, but i live only 15 minutes away, so i can go whenever i want.. captain derrek

Man you guys are lucky having BPS and Cabelas so close. We were supposed to get one of them near Cleveland but the politicians got greedy and wanted them to pay for wider roads and help out with their infrastructure expenses so it was not cost effective. They are looking for a more friendly town to help them out. 5 hours up there and several shopping.....well it's an overnighter. We can buy through the net but you can't get those instore or managers specials nor the great classes or seminars. Gander can only do so much and WalMart well...nough said there.

Hey Don, don't forget the BPS going into Rossford this spring. I heard they were working on the inside of the store now so hopefully they will be open in May sometime. I'll probably wait a while before I go since the place will probably be a zoo for a couple months.

they must have sold the Priemum last year because i have 1 gallon and 2 empties in my garage.  I remember Wonderland Marine sold buld oil last year during there open house.  might have to ask when they start advertising if they are going to sell it again.  on a good note i did not notice any difference in performance with Priemum oil.

Went yesterday, dropped a few dollars, went today, spent nothing.  A few good deals, but I think they mark other stuff up a little to make up for it.  Senkos were 6.99 a pack, when a few weeks ago they were 6.49.  I can get them at certain bait shops for 5.99, or through my buddy Frank for less than that.  It is all a scam to get you in the door to see all of the stuff.  Left BPS today and went to Cabelas for a few hours; had a lot more fun there and they had a better selction for the same or less.  Think my new favorite store to stand in will be changing soon!!!!!!  My reccomendation, don't waste the gas going.  Shop online and you can find the same deals most of the time and it'll be less than gas and tax.

I have not been to the BPS Fishing Extravaganza yet.  I plan on going when they do the reel trade-in from March 6 to March 9.  I got 3 or 4 reels to trade in and can always use something new.  I usually drop about 500 George Washingtons in the place during these shows at BPS.  And heck no I don't tell the wife.  If she knew she would go spend 500 Georges at some dress shop.  What a waste.  If it isn't for fishing gear/tackle, then it's a waste.
