OK Guys let face the fact, y'all got good ramps with Rest Rooms :) BUT  power to be are not doing the deal to keep them open from what I have read on the net. Crocker stopped up with Stuff. and other ramps not serviceable.  Ramps bring in money best get DNR bass in gear. :) What ramps are working without the trash clogging em up. Thanks I pay the annual ramp fee and just want to use about 10 days or so.  DNR can you HEAR me NOW :)

Jay-MadWags

Just use Harley Ensign. That's the best ramp with access to all the fishing spots in any season😊. Miles roads, Anchor Bay, Muskamoot Bay, etc.

Yep that's what I'm hearing due to conditions at Crocker and Selfridge 8) A real shame y'alls lake bring in so much money to the area from out of town to let em be shut down and the growing peak of the season. 8)

djkimmel

I haven't heard that there are any problems now at Selfridge? Last I knew it was open and working fine for boat launching.

Thanks Guys we beat around and fine something that will work most likely Harley Ensign which is a fine ramp

Rangerman

I find it very sad the the Great State does not understand HOW MUCH MONEY working ramps bring to the State.  8)   Vert Sad

I think they understand but maybe there is too much bureaucracy to go through to do some of the things needed? Plus, there's the budget issue - the issue being that the budget is always an issue...

Same bunch of Potlicker here in NC :) Now for ramps. Most of the guys used 9 mile and Selfridge some.  Water clear at 9 Mile going North past the Coast Guard Station to almost the 400 Club. Started getting darker.  Selfridge dirty. Most fish reported from the 8 boats were in 10-11 foot range with something on the bottom. Drop., Split shot Senko etc. I just blew a DNR Pass purchased on line and Crocker was closed. The thing I really missed was stopping at Eddie's and getting a good Milk Shake to ride on :) :)

djkimmel

Yes... sorry you didn't have Crocker (Clinton River Cutoff) ramp available. I'm hearing it should be available again fairly soon, though something could happen yet to change that.

I just hate I purchased the DNR permit for the year as I always do and the Ramp closed :'(  You boys should really smoke em in the next few weeks. My buddies still on LSC and count all boats  getting higher each day as water warm and more grass comes into play.

Firefighter Jeff

I could have sworn I saw Sportsman's Direct say Crocker was open.

dartag

Your DNR is good at Harley Ensign Ramp or Selfridge ramp.

jimmycast

It's open.  I drove in this morning to take a look.  Still some debris floating.  I won't put my boat in there until it looks better.

Jay-MadWags

Harley Ensign is the the best ramp on Clair. Hands down!  Easy in and easy out.

I had received an email that it could possibly open sometime this past week but they weren't sure, and I didn't receive any further messages. Glad it is open. They may have more dredging to do but they may be waiting for an assessment by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the current/silt/muck movement in the area and involving the Clinton River Cutoff channel before they do anything else.

About the same here in North Carolina, the study cost more than to fix the problem :) :) and then they out of money to fix the problem.  I understand the May Fly hatch has started, sure wish I was there. My buddies smoked em the last few days.

I also heard that Crooker has reopened just a couple days ago.

Guys like to thank all y'all for the help on my semi annual trips to great LSC.  The ramps in question and the whats up this week on highway construction coming thru Detroit :) That can be quite a deal with a good ole boy in four lanes of traffic pulling a boat dodging barrels and make turns at 60+ :) :) This is just poking fun and hope you take it that way.  I may just drive back up to watch the launch at Crocker now that it's open.  Never run into such a mess in my life. Back down these ramps, load on those. Only in Mich. Once down the ramp stop and load the stuff in the boat for 20 minutes block both ramps on that side of the pier. Now once loaded back down ever so slow with a rope tried (sometimes) and launch.  Well then try up the boat at the dock and block the launch lanes while the driver parks the truck. This is about a 25 minute deal. You boys need to educate the DA boaters what the get ready lane for and you put the owner in the boat and launch and he moves away from the dock until driver back on the dock.  Then pick him up and go on out of the lake. It's not the fishermen in most cases but someone in the boating world needs to enlighten them :'(  If they come down south and do that crap they will have a very strong talking to and possible Bass Whooping :) :) If it takes more than two minutes to launch a boat you may be a DA :) :) Sure nuff right funny watch the goat roping. Would just like to have a chair in the shade and drink a cool one and watch for a few hours, but would get locked up for beer on DNR ramp :) Just like here in NC, but that's why they make Solo Cups :) ,

Just poking Fun Guy
