Understand I-75 shut down again with South Bound.. Is it best to take I-275 headed North to I 275 to I-96 to I-94 going or run the construction to I 94 to Clinton Township?? and then I 94/96 to I 275 home to I-75 8)  So What's Up. Y'all must have the same road crew we goi in North Carolina :) :)

LennyB

I would just go I-75 North to I-94 East going there. Going home I would go I-696 West to I-275 South to I-75 South.

I thought 75 was closed south of 94..?

That part of the state has a talent for messing up traffic every season... Sometimes you just have to grin and bear it!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Do what google maps tells you to.  Should route you around construction in the best way.

Big thanks guys we had two boat past thru yesterday going north from 75 to 94 no real problem just lots of construction buts thats same about everywhere :) Coming home  i printed out the directions from above and HOPE the new updated Garmin will get me back South Bound and down. We got 6 boats headed that way with Brown Bass on their mind 8) Not going to worry about coming home till Saturday Week. We will make it . May take a little longer and a few detours. I sure wish LSC was about 11 hours closer, and Cotton was a Monkey and I had a Water Melon. You young guys don't remember that do you?? :) :) :)

LennyB

I believe it's just the South Bound side of I-75 that is closed.

Rangerman

Thats what the MI DOT says on there web site. Any  now I purchased the New Garmin with traffic up date after last years trip with all the on off ramps closed from I-75 and I-94 :) Quite a thrill seeing part of Detroit I would not care to visit again. :) :) But you locals think just stay on I-75 going and then I-94 instead of 275, 696 going and coming?? to I-94

Rangerman

Well here's a blow by blow. Went I 75 to I 94 no problems other than normal traffic and construction.  We had to return home due to a problem after one day of fishing. We just followed the Garmin from I-94 to I-275 to I 75 with no problem.  I would advise anybody headed to Roseville area from North I-75 just to take I-275 going and coming due to ease of route and no quick Left Right, Right Left turns in Detroit traffic dragging a boat trying to read signs and play  dodge the barrel. :) :) about 15 miles longer but very easy for a Good ole boy from down south not used to the Big City traffic.

Jay-MadWags

Only one day of fishing?  I'm sorry to hear that. Seems like a long drive to fish Clair only one day. I hope you found some fish. Maybe you can fish some other lakes on the way home. Drive safe.

Right only one day, I had planned to stay a week to 10 days, but had a problem and had to get home.  Sure nuff guys coming from North on i-75 I would highly recommend that you take I-275 to I 94 , I know it's a little longer but a lot easier pull a boat. You also miss the cluster in town. Fishing was hard. All boats catching 15-20 per day in about 11' of water on different baits, mostly on the bottom or near bottom. Monday the count is going up from the report of the crew. I was disappointed due to the other spring trips we catching 80-100 per day and our best day last year was 146 8)  Think we were just a little early.  Hope to get back in two weeks if I can get a local back seat to split the expense. It was 700 mile one way and 12 hours and cost each about $800 for one day. A very expensive trip for sure

djkimmel

Very sorry to hear you had to cut your trip so short!! I hope you get another shot later this year maybe? Good luck!
