Good for hunlee... remember the senkees are not for human consumption (that means... don't eat them yourself)

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I know this is a public site and you can voice your views at any time, but I find myself slightly offended that you would post such a thing knowing that 99% of us on here do not condone the keeping and eating of bass, unless dead at the weigh-in.  I respect your ability to voice your opinion, but do not in any way, shape, or form agree with you simply posting to let people know you are doing the one thing that erks us as bass anglers.  My 4 cents

Yeh... that can't be easy when you're so good lookin'!!

1jav - don't worry too much about Hunlee. He'll only eat a few...

Seriously, although many here would not eat a bass and more than a few find it distasteful, it is legal to catch and keep bass and some lakes need some of the bass caught an kept to remain healthy. Catch and release can go to far on some lakes.

I do not appreciate meat hogs and will always remind - at least - Michiganders that it is illegal to possess more than 2 days limit of fish - that includes in your boat, in your cooler and at home in your freezer. There is nothing wrong with a fresh fish meal including bass if regulations are followed and glutony is avoided. While I don't each much fish period, it is mostly because I'm just not super fond of fish. When I do eat fish, I like better tasting fair such as the walleye, perch and other panfish. Maybe even a catfish now and then.

I ask all of you to please not make anyone who follows regulations feel unwelcome here. It takes all kinds and I would prefer to have all kinds here where we can share our similarities AND our differences to learn from each other. Please and thank you.

I don't condone keeping any bass, however, some lakes benifit from the harvesting of a few. If it is a smaller, overpopulated lake, then harvesting would be beneficial. Likewise larger lakes with a good populations would not be harmed in any way, if you follow regulations. Problem is, there are meat fishermen that keep everything they catch, regardless of size and creel limits. Those are the people that really get me, that and people that keep and eat bass.

I think this Hunlee character is related to BASS FISHERMAN and might have eaten paint chips when he was a kid. :D Or he could be a well known fishermen from this area thats just trying to get a rise out of us here on GLB.  ???

This is well put DK.  8)  I myself only keep a couple walleye if I catch them by accident fishing for bass.  Only what I am going to eat for one meal.  I go perch fishing every year in the fall when the jumbos come in.  I do like perch dinner, but again only what I would eat for one meal as I eat it right away the day I catch it because I don't like it after it is frozen.  Just not the same as caught the same day fresh.

All the bass I catch go back to the lake as I am not fond of the taste of them.....not even the ones that die in the livewell during a tournament.  The ones that die during a tournament can go to feed the hungry as far as I am concerned......but all my bass are released alive.

Selective Harvest....Nothing wrong with it...Enjoy your fish dinner...
Actually In-Fisherman had a good show on this not to long ago..
There has been alot of discussion on another site about dead fish in the water after tournaments...I wish people would harvest those..there is a good article on tournament fish care in the new BASS times page 14...And rule number 1 states if a fish looks like it isn't going to make it don't put it back in the lake.  I know that is a different circumstance than we are talking about here, but I think the stigma of killing a bass is so strong that competitive anglers are afraid to own up and put a borderline fish in the cooler...I would rather see it harvested than go to waste, plus a killing field at the marina doesn't do much for our reputation as tourney anglers..
If you are a TD or club leader check out the article on Page 14 of the July BASS times...Lots of good tips on getting bass to the scales and back on the water alive.  Sorry didn't mean to hijack..

hunlee
