Posted this here thought it might see a bit more traffic, hopefully.

Anyhoo, looks like there might be a good window the next couple days to hit the islands, anyone been out there lately?  What's the word?  I've never been out there this late in the year, where would you look for fish?

Thanks in advance guys...

Bob
I am haunted by waters.

Haven't been out to charity in over a month, and it was all dirty water when I was there.  Talked to another guy on the water two weeks ago who said the same thing.  Fish have pulled up shallow in big numbers at some of my spots closer to shore.  I'm catching a lot of 2-2.5lber with a few 3-4's a day.  The fish i'm fishing are just getting into their fall routine.  Charity is funny though this time of year, sometimes the shallows are loaded with easy fish othertimes they are bare.  I may get out there this weekend, just not sure I want to burn the gas when I have a 50 fish day 2 miles from the launch.  FYI, this time of year the deep spawning stuff like the reefs and points are a good place to look for easy fish, 8-12 feet usualy.

In talking some with Anthony Wright from the BFL, he would like to consider Saginaw Bay for a 2010 Michigan Division stop. Obviously early is best, but how long in June would it be a good spot for a bunch of fish.

When we were at burt mullet this year, it was wrapping up on Saginaw Bay.  The weekend after opening day is best by far for numbers.  I talked to him last year about Saginaw and he said there were a lot of complaints.  I also heard a lot of complaints but they were mostly because we were launching from Veterans Park.  Hopefully they can get a city on board closer to the charitys, bay city is not a fun run on most days.  I'll shoot Anthony an Email this winter after things slow down.  IMO the perfect scenario would be to go out of Bay Port and use Bad Axe as the host city for lodging and meetings etc. Augres would be my 2nd choice but it's small and a longer drive from Detroit.  I would love to see a Saginaw,Burt/Mullet,St.Clair,Erie,Grand BFL, it would be an awesome points race.
