Silver Buddies are hot in NW Ohio also. Although I've caught some on jerkbaits also. This time of year, a super slow retrieve with a jerkbait is what gets them going. They will sink slowly in this cold water because of the cold water temps. Cold water sinks and is just pulling the bait down with it as it goes. Nothing wrong with your baits. I have been using that sslloowww retrieve catching 'eyes from shore at night.
