Maybe your subject line should be "Best Bass Lake in the Country"

Original song and lyrics by "MadWags"

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

I recently read an article where KVD said he liked Lake Guntersville in Alabama the best for numbers and size. He's has fished probably the best of the best. Always wanted to fish it and maybe it will happen in March if I get notified that I made the Marshall's list for Wheeler in Decatur.

Are you counting the Great Lakes in this survey,or just inland waters? Without a doubt,Erie and LSC are prolly the best as far as numbers, and average weight per bass. Not counting any of the Great Lakes,or LSC,my top 3 lakes for largemouth would be Guntersville,Falcon or Amistad, and Clear Lake in northern California. For smallies,Dale Hollow,Champlain and Wheeler. The three biggest smallmouth ever caught came from Dale Hollow,so it's hard to argue with that.

Not sure what it is worth, I fish the Bay of Quinte on the eastern basin of Lake Ontario in Ontario. last fall in two days me and my partner caught and released 226 tournament size bass ( a combination of large and smallmouth) mostly on 1/2 ounce white spinnerbaits. Granted we don't get 10lbers here but we had lots over 3lbs. . Normally high teens or  20lb. bags a day are needed to make it in the $.  The Bay of Quinte has always been a trophy walleye water with 10lbers very common and still is. The bay is well worth giving a try anytime!

I have talked to kVD about home lakes and his best spots. He says loose lips sink ships! Do you really want this best kept secerit to get out? I love the fact that you all want to go some where else. The great lakes ROCK!

I totally agree, nothing better than the great lakes, and St.Clair.However, this time of the year you pretty much have to travel elsewhere if you want to pursue bass.Lakes like Dale Hollow and Norris in TN offer great winter fishing for bass.I fished Dale Hollow and Norris a couple of times in early December, and a trip to Lake Seminole just after Christmas.Next year I'm hoping to make it down to Mexico for a week.

I haven't fished them all but I would have to say that for me Michigan has the whole experience, it is a magical time and place that when you hit it on the nose it surpasses even the wildest of my fishing dreams. I will say that the water is clear and blue and the boulders and rubble rock is every where and the Smallies are unmolested, never seen another boat anywhere near it. The GPS cordinates and dates are in my final will and testament with orders for the wife/kids to, on the special date only if the conditions are right, to make it my final resting place.

Northern Michigan Rocks.
