I see there hasn't been much posted here lately.

Is this a dead board?  Is the club still going?

I see that there was supposed to be a Jan. 2009 meeting, but the question would be when and where are the meetings?  Is there a Feb. meeting?

Thanks.

djkimmel

The club is still going and active. Some of there members still visit this web site regularly. I will see if I can find out any more details from one of them.

Sorry!  I've been swamped since the new year.

We still have monthly meetings, same as always.  first tuesday of the month
Sanford Lake Bar and Grill at 7:00 P.M.

go all the way to the back of the bar, theres usually 10-15 of us there every month.

so come on March 3, and check us out.
we picked lakes for the year already
Sanford, Wixom, Saginaw Bay, Sugar Springs and wiggins lakes.  not in that order though.
and dates, but i don't know them off hand.
we fish 5 club tournaments on Sundays. and a classic in mid/late september.

$55 memebership  i think .
I'm no longer the secretary, but I'll try to get good info.

Chad

ranttrmike

Thanks for the info.

What does the $55 include?

blackbass

once a member you can go to the state
fish off and fish our club tournaments
I'm guessingon the actual amounts, but i think
state dues are $30, so we can fish the state fish off,
and $25 goes towards lots of things
our bass club classic in september
annual winter banquet
paying the ramp fees,
Plaques/trophies
paying entry fee for state fish off
sending some money with members that make the state team.
etc.

i can get exact list if you like

thanks
Chad

FYI, the lake at Sugar Springs is Lancer.

djkimmel

Yeah, but it seems to me that almost everyone else just calls it Sugar Springs.

Okay, smarty pants, as you well know the lake is in the community of Sugar Springs (mailing address is Gladwin) but the name of the lake with the public ramp is Lake Lancer.  I just posted that in case anyone was trying to find info about the ramp (which is operated by Butman Township).

sugar springs is a club tournament anyway,
and we all know where it is.  those fish are pigs!
i had two bags over 18# out of there last summer.

djkimmel

Only been there a couple times and I didn't hit it right apparently, but I've heard the stories... glad to see some interest and posting going on here. Thanks.

Uh, huh, huh, Butt Man.  Huh, huh.

BTW, lots of people read this board so I was just explaining the Lancer thing in case there were those that wanted more info about it since it is a good lake.  I figured the club that lived up there knew about it.

djkimmel

Okay. Maybe they use less obvious descriptions so not to have as much company? Don't know. Either way, it's hard to figure out what anyone is talking about when it comes to that area when you aren't from that area.
