McCoy or P-line Floroclear for spinning gear.

lets talk about line.
Baitcasting rods.
I run 15# P-line CXX X-tra strong on my baitcasters pretty
much all the time, except for the occasional topwater or
small crankbait.  then i'll go down to 12.  I'm pretty happy with this
setup.

I run 10 and 12# McCoy Mean Green 99% of the time.  It casts great.  super limp.  No twisst problems.  It is rated realisticly.
10# is 10# breaking strength unlike p-line where 10# is 15# breaking strength.  I've been using McCoys for 14 yearsand go thru 1500 yards a summer.

I came into some super clear water a couple years ago with spooky fish that i needed to catch so i bought some p-line floroclear in
8#.  now i'm not 100% convinced, but I've been playing around a little with this stuff ever since and am thinking about switching.
It's gonna cost a lot more.  But it could be worth it. 
It seems super strong, i need to work on a consistant knot for it.
having a little trouble with it slipping. 
casts great, limp, no twist problems.  and 8# is as strong as
McCoy 12#.   Anybody got some extensive experience with it?

i've been using 8lb pline floroclear and premium (can't tell much diff in the two). for years on my spinning gear and its my fav. copolymer out there. been very pleased with it. I use 12lb or 15lb floro clear on most of my baitcasters also.
Only thing i don't like about it is i feel its a bit stretchy when compared to similar lines like Gamma... which is ok in most cases.

i like stretchy most of the time. 
whenever i've tried a low stretch copolymer, it's been too stiff
and i've had problems with baitcasters.
some of the guys i fish with crack me up .
they throw yozuri or p-line cxx in 10# and swear it's the best there is,
but after two hours of casting there cussing at it and pulling out loops
every fifth cast.    I just did a size comparison, i'll probably order a
couple thousand feet of floroclear and switch this year and give it a good try.

I have been using P-Line floroclear for years and if I am not using pure floro or braid that is what I use. I use 8# on my spinning gear and 12# on my baitcasters. I think it's the best line out there. I have very few problems with it.

I've been using the p-line copolymer all season last year and had no prob with it at all. Ran the 6 and 8lb on spinning for drop shotting and tubes. 10lb for crankbaits and 12 for spinnerbaits both of these on baitcasters. I will b using this line again this season. hope this helps

I used to love throwing the CXX on my baitcasters for cranking near wood.  I don't know why I stopped using it?  I honestly didn't like the flouroclear.  Broke way too easy (8lb).  I must have gotten a bad spool or something.

I have been using P-line for years in CXX, Flourocarbon, and Flouroclear. I no longer use flouroclear for the simple fact it is not very abrasion resistant when compared to straight flourocarbon. Don't get me wrong, it is a very limp line that rarely coils or tangles and casts very well, but the one thing that I have found in fishing is you simply cannot get it all in one line. I have fished the Michigan Division BFL for five years and have used many lines on the Great Lakes and flouroclear will simply not take the beating that the mussels and rocks give it. If I am drop shotting or tubing I use either P-line Flourocarbon or Trilene 100% flourcarbon. Both are very good lines although I think the Trilene is a bit stronger. I rarely have break-off problems with the Pline and I really can't say ever with the Trilene. They are both very stiff lines and will coil. A high end spinning reel (I use Shimano Stradics) help, but the best thing I have found to do is always close the bail by hand and give the line a slight tug with each cast. Do it for a day and it will become second nature.
I will be totally honest and say that I would love to fish Flouroclear because it does have the non-irritating qualities of the straight flouro's, but if you fish a lot of tourneys I promise you that it will cost you a fish or two. If I didn't fish tourneys all the time I would probably use this stuff on my spinning rods all the time. Fresh out of the box it is fairly strong, but after one hard day of fishing I just don't trust it. It burnt me many times over a year and a half of using it.
I know many guys on the pro trail use braid and tie a flouro leader. I believe this system would work well to take care of the twisting problems and will also add a lot of longevity to the life of your spool of line.

I really like the P-Line Halo best for many applications. Been using it heavily for the past 2 seasons, particularly on spinning reels for 'finesse' tough techniques.

Anyone who read what I'd said about Evolution... disregard. My porous memory is thinking of some other line experience. I have it from the source that Evolution has the least amount of stretch among P-Line lines other than the Spectrex IV braid.

I've been using Halo so much, I've apparently forgot some things. I'll have to take a refresher course here in a few weeks

well i ordered a 1000 yard spool of P-line CX florocarbon.
it's really confusing to me that p-line makes to different lines
that are basically the same. 
with the floroclear and CX florocarbon.
they both say they are coated.
I'll give it an honest try and see how it works out. 
i played with the 8# floroclear ice fishing on the bay. 
and have been using it jigging the river.  have a little trouble with
knots slipping when i tighten them up.  using a 5 twist improved clinch knot.
if i go to 7 twists the problem goes away.
If i use the palomar knot i get rendom poor knot strength. 
(meaning that sometimes it breaks real easy when testing the knot)\
the CX is a little smaller in diameter so i bumped up to 10# and will give it a go
this spring on my spinning tackle and see what happens with the knots.
