Interesting Idea

Some of you know I'm looking to run a weekend series next year; and I'm real excited about it. We're going to run a circuit for the anglers and not the directors.

I've slowly been getting the word out about this.

I was contacted by someone yesterday with a radical idea, and I'm not sure what to think about it, so I'm asking for your opinion.

He wants to have an ultimate Tournament of Champions so to speak. He wants to invite the top 4 finalists of all the semi-local division/circuits to a large-scale fish off.

    * It would be a 2 day event on a large body of water such as Kentucky Lake. Large pot w/ $200 entry fee.
    * This would be a team event: the top 4 teams from each division would work as a team.
    * He is thinking at least 25 divisions, so do the math: $20,000 would be collected. A membership fee, $25 would cover all of the the expenses to run the tournament.

So, let me know your thoughts, questions, ideas, level of interest. You cannot hurt my feelings as this is not my idea and I'm not committed to it in any way, so be critical if you want.

I agree that it is an interesting idea!  You are talking about inviting the Top 4 teams from other area circuits?  Such as inviting the Top 4 from the BBT, NBAA Northern Michigan, ....?

Andy
How many tournements in each division and how much per tournement to deturmine the top 4?

dartag

where are you starting a new series??  SE Mich??  hope it works out for ya.

Duke

dartag: I am starting a division in S. Michigan (would cover SW Michigan)/ Northern Indiana next season.

Bob: not sure how to answer that right now as I wouldn't be in charge of making that decision.

Ranger5smallie: you got the right idea, just not sure if it would reach as far north as N. Michigan.

Any other thoughts out there?

If you are going to do this why not invite every club in  Michigan.
It could be a big dance and could get a lot of interaction from all over the state
