Sorry guys, it doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to make this one.  I'm still waiting to get the boat back from the mechanic.  I'm not gonna be able to break it in by the weekend.  The wind reports for the next week look pretty bad.  30+ mph.  Good luck!

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

I would like to be a non boater if you guys got room.

GeeDavid

Guys,

Food for thought for Saturday.  I have never fished St Clair this early in the year so I don't know if the bite is typically the same (late) or not but since no one has piped up about Seth's question of what time I thought that I would try to start a dialog.  The major for Saturday (and it's a good one) starts just before noon and goes till just after three.  If the bite doesn't really get going till mid morning maybe we should give thought to a meeting time of eight or so and fish till four or five.  Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day and we may as well enjoy it when we can.

Any other input?

David

I was just checking into the same thing, trying to find old posts to see what time we normally start. It seems like the crack of dawn in the past. It does look like the low will be 58, and that's what I was worried about overnight if it was getting too cold but it's not.

The other thing for us "west siders" is that there is a lot of construction coming across 96 and 696. Last weekend 696 was closed! This weekend it will be open but 1-2 lanes will be closed. I'm thinking that if we can get through there earlier it might be better. I'm the last one that likes getting up early, so I can't believe I am suggesting it.  ;D

I would rather head across town early, like Bender said to avoid the construction.  I hate getting up early, but I hate sitting in traffic on my way to the lake.

Don't know if the lot will fill up if we wait too long either?  I got there around 9 last year a couple times and the lot was full.

With the cool weather this week I am not sure what to expect for the pattern.  Usually my early season stuff in on Erie.  This time of year the fish are just starting to break out of the winter pattern on Erie.  The fish would be moving from 35' or so into the shallower 25' range over the next 3 weeks - clearly that kind of pattern won't work on LSC!  If we get some sunshine the next couple days, I hope to find a trap or jerkbait bite in the shallows!

MIBasser

Well if the weather holds (low wind) I'll be there as a boater.  Thanks Chris for talking me into going....  Look forward to seeing ya'll there.

Hey Guys, I drove down to the Ballard ramp today (Wednesday) and the launch apron is covered with wood and the launch area looks really mucky and dirty. Like Chris said, I think we need to move the launch.

I've been working on my boat again since another animal got into it and tore up some wiring while it was in storage. I've also been nursing a sore back the last few weeks and that has slowed me down and the progress. I want to try and get it out before the weekend to make sure it runs OK before I take somebody out. Hopefully I'll know tomorrow and also get a chance to see what the water clarity is after all the wind and rain.  ;D

Mark

PS. I can only fish until about 1:00 Saturday due to family obligations.

MadWags

Move to Harley! Plenty of parking and safe ramps.

I'm guessing that the bite will be later as the water warms.
I'm also guessing that a whole bunch of guys will be headed to the launches this Saturday.  It's been a looooonnnnnggggg winter.

I'd rather have to wait for the fish, than for a parking place.
