June is HOT Month For Giant Mexico El Salto Bass... and we aren't just talking temperature! The huge bass are really being caught right now at Ron Speed's resort!! I wish I was there right now seeing these amazing catches!!

Here's the report from down Mexico way: Recently I sent you a fishing report for Lake El Salto, Mexico and the outstanding numbers of big bass caught by one of our groups in early June. Since that report, we've had another group stay at our camp on El Salto and wanted to share their fishing success with you. There is a 3rd group leaving today and as soon as I get their report, I'll pass it along.

June 9 - 12 Group (13 anglers fished 4 days):

June 9th: 12 bass of 7 lbs - 10.6 lbs
5 @ 7 lbs+; 4 @ 8 lbs+; 1 @ 9 lbs+; 2 @ 10 lbs+

June 10th: 17 bass of 7lbs - 13.2lbs
6 @ 7 lbs+; 3 @ 8 lbs+; 2 @ 9 lbs+; 4 @ 10 lbs+; 1 @ 11 lbs; 1 @ 13.2 lbs

June 11th: 14 bass of 7 lbs - 10.8 lbs
9 @ 7 lbs+; 2 bass @ 8 lbs+; 3 @ 10 lbs+ (10.3 lbs, 10.6 lbs and 10.8 lbs)

June 12th: 15 bass of 7 lbs - 11 lbs
1 @ 7 lbs; 6 @ 8 lbs+; 4 @ 9 lbs+; 3 @ 10 lbs+; 1 @ 11 lbs

Totals:

58 bass total over 7 lbs (up to 13.2 lbs)
21 bass of 7 lbs
15 bass of 8 lbs
7 bass of 9 lbs
12 bass of 10 lbs
2 bass of 11 lbs
1 bass of 13.2 lbs

* Majority of bass of 7 lbs and larger were caught on: 8" Magnum Zoom Lizard (watermelon red w/chart tail), medium diving crankbaits 15+ (citrus shad color) and a few on buzz baits (topwater) early and late.

As you can see, the summer months on El Salto can be very, very good even though it's not a popular time with our anglers as say Jan - Mar. Yes, it's WARM...but not any warmer than what we're currently experiencing here in Texas.

As for Lake Comedero, like I stated before, we close our camp on this lake due to the monsoon season and the tremendous rainfall that occurs around the lake from June to September. The best time to fish Lake Comedero is December - early April with Jan, Feb and Mar being the very best "most of the time"...

Next El Salto report coming soon!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
