Connecticut Machinist Has Potential of Winning $3 Million

PITTSBURGH (Aug. 1, 2009) – Heading into the final two days of the Forrest Wood Cup presented by BP and Castrol on the Three Rivers in Pittsburgh, all eyes in the world of fantasy sports are carefully watching the final results of the world's richest professional bass fishing tournament where America's best bass pros are competing for the sports largest prize, $1 million. William "Bill" Slavis, a machinist from Torrington, Conn., is the only FLW Fantasy Fishing player in the world to have selected five of the final top 10 anglers in the Forrest Wood Cup. He could win $3 million if the five bass pros he has selected finish first through fifth in the Forrest Wood Cup in the exact order that Slavis selected them. Slavis has been invited to Pittsburgh by FLW Outdoors to be in attendance for the final two days of the Forrest Wood Cup, and to take part in a ceremony where FLW Fantasy Fishing will award $1 million in cash to the season's winning player who has accumulated the most points over its six tournament season of the Walmart FLW Tour.

At the conclusion of the weekend, the professional angler that weighs in the largest two-day cumulative weight could win up to $1 million cash. The overall winner of FLW Fantasy Fishing for 2009 will be awarded $1 million Saturday and the grand-daddy of them all, Slavis, who could win $3 million in cash with his perfect selection of the top five finishers of the Forrest Wood Cup.

All told, FLW Outdoors could potentially award more than $6 million this weekend in cash prizes if Slavis wins the PowerHook.
