Been looking at the NBAA site for next year and found  16  events already scheduled for Kent next year.  looks like all the great reports were noticed by the directors.   one nice this is you could fish all year on 1 tank of gas.

think spring.

doesn't KLBA already have a hand full of tournaments on this lake?

dartag

yep OCBM is there Memorial Day,  KLBA is there every other Tue all summer.  The lake is listed at 1000 acres and there are miles of water to fish upriver.  just takes a while to get there.  I will be there on monday nights.  maybe even learn to catch a fish in that lake.

McCarter

thats why i do a 3 fish limit.  a little less stress on an increasingly pressured lake.

Waterfoul

I know the lake proper is 10 mph.  Is the river upstream the same?
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

Doesnt matter which lake you are fishing they are all pressured. Some of the most pressured lake on the west side are among the the best lakes in the state, and theyve been that way for a long time. Dont think the pressure is a bad thing. Just makes you have to fish harder and better.

I don't think I have ever seen the patrol boat go past Buno Rd. bridge so you could probably go as fast as you want up there. BUT, the max depth is about 2-3' and it's full of stumps and a few rocks that are only just under the surface. You can go up to the Dawson Rd. bridge trimmed up and watching carefully. I have only gone a little bit past Dawson and it gets very shallow, I think a kayak would be better suited to that water.
