I wonder how long Burt can continue to be that good after having all of those giant females removed year after year after year after year.  I will not be there for the tournament, but would like to go up fun fishing.

Females????  The fish are moved rather than removed. I'm sure a lot of the burt fish released in mullet find their way back to burt at some point.  If those fish didn't go back I would think the fishing on burt would be worse and the fishing on mullet would be better but that hasn't been the case both have been about the same.  I really don't think tournaments have a negative impact during the spawning season, you think it could but I have yet to see it.  In fact I have seen bass populations improve over the last few years on heavily pressured spawning lakes.  I will be up there this year.

A lot of those bass may be big males too. Considering that the male spends much more time on the bed.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Agree Dan

I would venture to say that 80% of the fish caught off the bed are males.  This is just my opinion but I see that when the female pulls up she is there less than 24 hours.
