I have been thinking about dropping the coin on this suit for about a year now, and think I have finally brought myself to do it.  I was just wondering if any of you have it.  I read the reviews, and it seems everybody is happy with it on the BPS site, so how about on GLB?  I really wish I would have had it yesterday and today.  I am really wanting it for St Clair next month.  Don't know how the weather is over there this time of year, and I don't want to get there and freeze all day, or be soaked to the bone for that matter.  Your input will be greatly appreciated, being as I'm going to order it Tuesday or Wednesday.  Or, do any of you have suggestions of other gear that works really well for less money?

dashaver63

I've had the Cabela's Dry Plus parka and bibs for a couple years now and they do the job for a bit less than the BPS gear. You can usually find it on sale or in the Bargain Cave. I think all total I spent around 200.00 on mine.

I bought the 100mph suit last year...I am not overly happy with it...
It is relatively waterproof but I have gotten wet a few times in it...
There isn't a fly...You have to take the jacket off and drop the bibs if you have to go..
If you decide to go with BPS I would advise going with the 100mph Jacket and the pro-qualifier bibs(It has a fly)...John Maniaci advised me to do this and I didn't listen..I wish I would have....
I bought my wife a set of Cabela's guidewear for Xmas..They were on sale in the fall for just about half price...I think I got the jacket and bibs for just over 200 bucks..that is half the price of a 100MPH set up...After seeing the quality of the guidewear that is what I wish I would have went with for myself...

The 100mph suit is a good suit but I think the guidewear is a little better quality...Keep an eye out and you can catch it on sale...

Bobber

Cabelas guide wear suit it costs the same. And it has kept me dry and warm in everything.

got the Pro Qualifier bibs and jacket a couple weeks ago for 129.00 each.  Used the bibs yesterday and really like them.  Not sure if they are still on sale.  It was an internet sale only I think.

Thanks Dan.  You took all the work out of it for me.  Now, I just have to make up my mind. ???

I have the Pro Qualifier jacket bibs.  Spent 8 hours on the water today and it rained fairly hard for about half of that time.  Bone dry when I took it off at the ramp and drove home.  Gortex rocks!

I have a 100 mph BPS rainsuit, and it's the best rain wear I've ever owned. Haven't ever had the comparable Cabellas so I can't compare. The BPS suit is too heavy for summer wear, so I have Frog Toggs for hot weather. You can't beat Frog Toggs for the price and they are very light weight and are perfect summer wear.

I've got a set of frog toggs somewhere also.  My only complaint is that they jacket is too short... I always end up with a wet "back side" because the jacket rides up (the elastic at the bottom of the jacket seems a bit tight).  But they will keep you dry if you can keep the jacket from riding up.

I have the bibs and coat. Love them both!

Mike S.

Think I'm going to buy the Pro Qualifier's.  I don't need the heaviest ones I can get, just some warmer and drier than my jeans.

PIGSMALLIE

I have BPS 100 M.P.H...They are worth there weight in gold.....Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!   Even though when I bought them about 7 years ago they were a little salty...but well worth it....440.00

dashaver63

Right now the Cabela's Dry Plus bibs are on sale for 59.00 Regular 159.00. If you've never looked at them, check them out.

djkimmel

There are a number of decent sale prices at Cabelas right now. You can see many of them with this link.

I ended up buying the 100mph suit, because the Pro Qualifiers were out of stock.  Hopefully I can try them out on LSC next weekend.

mikesmiph

Hopefully you cant try them out Mike. Unless you like to sweat. Its supposed to be 70.

Redbone

It was a crappy day out today!  And while in the car with the ol' lady I said "This crappy weather makes me want to go out and get some good rain gear."  That's the beginning. Now if I can say that about a dozen more time I should be able to have it justified! :P  I like the BPS ones but I do forsee a zipper issue. Nothing to stress about though.  Those are pretty darn nice! ;)

Mike S.

Well, Mike, I sure hope it is 70 Saturday, and no wind.  That would be awesome.  Now, as far as the bibs and the zipper issue, it may be a problem.  The storm flap in the front will definitely make it hard to go.  Maybe that's for extra warmth.  They are very nice, though.  Hopefully they are as good as they say.

dartag

I bet you will get to try them next week.  at least in the morning.
