What would you call your home lake

Mine,  even though I suck would have to be Belleville lake. The bigest reason would be theres not alot of weeds & grass in it unless you go down where the pads are all built up heavy.

My home lake would have to be Brooks Lake near Newaygo.  That is the lake I cut my bass fishing teeth on.  Mainly because before I had my place up there and a boat, my father-in-law had a boat and that is were he kept it.

Upper Saranac Lake, probably the most beautiful lake I have ever seen too.

Hamlin Lake in Ludington Michigan.  My grandparents built a cottage in the back of the North Bayou a few years before I was born.  Since 2000 my wife and I have had a camper trailer at the North Bayou Resort.

I'd have to say Higgins Lake.  Been going up there for 20+ years only fished it a few times.  Next would be Lake Lansing, 5 minutes away.

 The question is, What would i call my home lake? I believe it would be the lake. That you like to fish. The lake you feel most comfortable on. Maybe the one you boat the most fish every time you Lynch on it. The one where you know every nuke and cranny.The lake that at tournament time, You gunna cleanup. Sorry guys have not fond that lake yet, Seems every time I think I got it figured out. I come in 2nd or 3rd.

Union lake is home for me.  live on it for 25 years.   great lake for bed fishing then you have to wait till fall when the smallies come back shallow.  The boat launch is a real adventure getting across the road to park...   they will move it south 1/2 mile some day.

I'd have to go with Lobdell. It's only 16 miles away and a place I can go to catch fish when every other lake is causing problems.

My home lake would be the Half Moon chain. I have been fishing there since 1964, that is when my mom and dad started camping. I know the chain pretty good but it is still very tough to catch fish at times. That is where I caught my first bass, it is where my daughters caught their first bass and it is where my oldest grandson caught his first bass. Hopefully the rest of my grandchildren will catch their first bass there also.

I would say I have two. The first is Beadle Lake in Battle Creek. My grandparents lived on the lake and I spent most of my teenage summer days rowing around that lake. My largest bass came from there about 10 years ago (7lbs 1oz).

The second would be Gull Lake. One of the most beautiful lakes in the lower pennisula. Lots of fish, all kinds of fishing possible, and home of more than a few excellent anglers over the years.

I'd have to say I've had several home lakes over the years.  I still count all of 'em; each one was a main lake for me over the years.  I still feel like I'm going "home" each time I visit any of them. 

Long Lake north of Alpena was my first home lake.  Not for bass, I started as a walleye guy.  Read the Bill Binkelman book "nightcrawler secrets", and became a fishing facts disciple.  My Aunt had a cottage there, and we would spend weeks at a time living there each summer.  By 14, I was fishing most mornings, dragging lindy rigs for 'eyes.

Rush Lake & Muskelunge Lake north of Hillman was where I discovered Largemouth fishing.  For years after college I traveled to Alpena every other weekend; I got to spend many of my formative years as a bass guy there.  Still to this day, one of my favorite vacation evenings is a couple of ice cold ones while worming a deep weedline up north.

Nowadays it's Belleville Lake.  I cut my teeth in tournament fishing there.  Great group of sticks; it's like competing against the same guys in a bowling league for years.  In fact, I'd say Belleville made me what I am today.  It's a true resevoir, with off color water, shad, a mini version of many traditional southern impoundments.  With both Largies & smallies, you can attempt to fish your strengths on any given night.  It's also highly pressured, by some very good sticks.  Added together, it prepares you very well for many other waters.

I think you need a good mix of a home lake you know every yearly pattern on, and adventures to new waters.  The experience helps you see subtle variations in yearly patterns on different types of waters.

*special mention for the Detroit & St. Clair rivers; pretty drives, flat early morning water, and miles to fly!

Mine would be two lakes. Lake Orion because that is where I found the real love for bass fishing and where I did my first tournament and lake oakland. I fish there for fun 90 percent of the time over lake orion because there's less boat traffic.

I grew up on that beautiful Grand River. From Riverside park on down. I haven't kept a skeg on any of my motors for long. In fact I'm on a roll right now, my 175 'Rude' is going on two years!....

i would have to say black oak bayou off the kankakee river (dammed off bayou) or JC Murphy lake - both in indiana.

black oak is  a weed and timber choked shallow swamp that is about 200 acres. i grew up about 8 minute from there and i can tell you every spot that is more than 2' deep. I've been out there in a fog so thick you couldn't see 10' in front of you and found spots based on "hang a left at that dead tree" and there are thousands of dead trees. very cool spot. i need to go back sometime!
