Hey everyone, I have a tournament on St. Claire in a few weeks. I figure I will head to the mile roads, and fish slow. Any ideas on what to throw? Color? Size? Depth? What  state are the fish in? Thanks all that help?

You could start by purchasing a good map and look for promising spots.

Then spend countless days, money on hotel rooms, meals and a bunch of gas trying to find the fish.........that's what I do.    Sometimes it works, and sometimes not so much.....

BS  ;)

what? no one is willing to give up their best spots to a guy who makes his first post on the board? geez, you guys are tough.

Alright, I'll give might up, go to the 6 mile road and find 13ft. Shouldn't be too hard. There is a weedbed right around there. That is the hard part. The fish are everywhere right now. And by that I mean scattered. Fish fast and use gulp. It helps if there is a stiff 25 mph wind. Start deep and move shallow. If it doesn't happen right away, pee in the water.  ;)

If you beat me in the tournament, I want half!

You can do like 90% of the fishermen out there (and 99% of the pleasure boaters that decide they want to catch some fish).  Drive around slowly and look for someone that catches a fish.  Then sit down right on top of them, claim you had a waypoint on that exact spot and start fishing.

That is the Ben Trodder technique. ;D

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

We had a couple hotspots today.  Got a 6+, a couple 5 +, and a couple 4s.  Unfortunately, the waypoints are in a SI unit at the bottom of the lake.  If you find it, the waypoints are yours.

I had a real good day out on the Mile Roads yesterday.  I caught about 18 fish. I would say 14 of them would have kept.  My best 5 would have gone about 19lbs.  I hadn't been out there in about two weeks.  Still 18 is a slow day on St. Clair.  I was out there about 10 hours.  Still a slow day fishing on St. Clair is better than a great day at work.   :o

Are you kidding me??  :'(  What is the "Rest of that story"...
I am going to start safety wiring my stuff up...That is the 3rd unit this year that I have heard is sitting on the bottom of the lake..
I would puke on the spot if I saw my Lowrance drop in the lake....I have "Most" of my GPS Coordinates backed up but not all...

Speared a wave coming in and "bye bye" Hummingbird.

Best to try not to do that. Bummer.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

That totally bites ... thank goodness I had Dan Kimmel in my boat showing me how to drive rougher water.  It sounds silly, but being from the West side, the water is just different and Dan showed me a lot about how to drive and stay dry.  Only speared one wave.  Fortunately, all my stuff is still intact!

That is not nice!  I lost my 798cSI off the bow running across Burt on Wed a.m. before the Tx a few wks back.  I never saw it leave the boat!  The plastic clips just gave way, my ram mount was just sitting there looking empty.  That was a nightmare scrambling to find a replacement while up in Cheboygan...  I feel your pain Jeff.

The unit was my buddy Charlie's.  It was heartbreaking.  It was pretty much brand new.

Hey thanks for some help I really appreciate it!! ;)

We need to get some Aircraft Mechanics to give us a class on safety wiring...Their stuff is a work of art...I can do it but it doesn't look as nice as what they do...
Safety wiring will be the trick to keeping those units safe...
