Just wondering if anyone out there knows the requirements for both BASS and TBF youth tourneys.  My son just turned 10 (July 9Th) and is into fishing bass tournaments so I wanna get him into the state tournaments but not sure what route to take or what the exact age requirements are (he needs to be 11 by what date).  I've talked with members of local Bass clubs here in the Southwest part of the state and neither appears to have an active youth club.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Scott.

Contact BrianB on this site. He is the TBF youth director.

From the national Bass Federation youth site: "Those age groups are 11-14 and 15-18 years old. The cutoff for these ages is August 31 each year. Any age youth can fish within a TBF junior club in most states but only these ages can qualify for the championships."

Check with BrianB for specific TBF of Michigan requirements. They have clubs youth can join to be able to fish the state event if you don't have a local club to join.

From Michigan BASS Federation Nation Youth Rules: "The Youth Division is divided into three Age Groups; Junior 5-10, Youth 11-14 and Youth 14-18. These are used to determine which youth age group the members are qualified to participate is. This is important for things like the Junior State Championship. The age group of the youth is their age as of October 1st of the qualifying season. B.A.S.S. Freezes the age of the competitor as of the date the youth member qualifies, so that they will not loose their eligibility if their birthday follows the date they qualified on."

Got to www.michiganbass.net Contacts to get ahold of Tom Boland and/or Barry Narrin, their youth directors according to the site, to confirm details.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
