Okay here is the list of confirmed participants so far for the September 11, 2010 GreatLakesBass.com members' tournament - the Fall West DK Open on White Lake in Montague Michigan. (8am until 2pm, be there by 7:30am please). No drawing yet. I will do it as soon as I hear from a few more maybes. There is room at the moment for one boater to switch to nonboater, but I'm afraid to say do it since I always have a last minute change to two that puts me short.

Mike,  I really don't think it's so much they hate this side, just that there are a fair amount of tourneys and such going on.  Ok, might be a little hate from what I saw on a previous post on White Lake.  lolololol  Shoot, I'm gonna make it, what more could you want???  LMAOOOOOO
      :D

Mike S.

Good luck with your dad, Mary.  Best wishes for your family.  We will all miss you at White.....well, except for those of us you beat last year!  LOL!

dartag

I don't really hate the west side buuuttttt.

after 2 BFL co-angler events where i never weighed a keeper.  then last week spending 18 hours on Gun lake and finally catching 1 keeper which was better than 44 other anglers in the tourny I fished.  I think I will be staying east of Lansing from now on.  Plus I have a tourny on the 11th.    good luck to all fishing.  hope you all limit out.

Crowded season with lots of choices. Money is tight. We shouldn't take things so personal. Some day this east vs west thing has to stop. The West side probably has more circuits and tournaments than the east side from what I see, making it very hard to pick a decent date with less conflicts. I'll be there no matter what and we'll have fun! It's fishing!!

But, Veronica is going to be at this one. That should make it the biggest draw in the State. And, she needs a ride, so I'm coming too.

Mike S.

I'll fish anywhere, east side, west side, doesn't matter.  I do understand how it would be frustrating t drive over and not catch anything.  Happened to me when I took my dad to LSC.  But, I'm going back at the end of this month, and I'm going to have better luck.  Our side of the state gets tremendous pressure.  I was on my way to work a couple weekends ago, and came across a convoy of 5 or 6 boats getting on the highway at 5 a.m.  They were all heading south, due to rain, and all had Indiana plates.  We get beat up by everybody from surrounding states as well.  I remember going to Fisherman's Landing a couple of months ago and it was full of Indiana and Ohio plates.  Full, not just a handfull.  But anyways, let's go do what we ALL here on GLB love to do, and go jerk some lips.

I would be there with bells on if I didn't have a tournament on that date. I have only missed one (I believe) DK Open since its inception. I am totally depressed about this missed opportunity. I would rather fish with you guys and not catch a single fish, than fish another tournament and catch a huge sack. Well........ somewhere in the middle. ;)

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

Sorry for backing out Dan, and the rest of the gang. In my case, it's simply a scheduling conflict. With the exception of the NBAA Overtime division series that I fish, this time of year (through Nov.) is the time when I do most of my tournament fishing. Has absolutely nothing to do with it being on the West Side.

Living in the Lansing area puts me about equal distance from either side.

Up until the mid, to late 90's, most of my fishing was done on the west side of the state. My two favorite bodies of water were the Grand River, and Muskegon Lake.

I fished Tri-State, so for those of you who remember, three out of five tournaments were usually on the west side. My old bass club was also quite fond of the west side (inland) lakes, so I also spent a lot of time on Cass, Gun, Pine, Thornapple, Crooked.

The club that I currently belong to likes the northwestern lakes, so I've also spent a fair amount of time in that part of the state. They like to fish the lake known for big smallies like Charlevoix (almost every year), Elk and Torch, Burt and Mullet (not quite west, but Crooked and Pickerel are), Leelanau.

I was actually looking forward to getting back to White (even though it would have been the first time in about 12 years).

I would normally jump at this since I have my boat back, but not really wanting to spend any money on fishing right now, college starts back up tomorrow and my best friend's first playoff game for semi-pro football is Saturday in Indiana, so that would make for a lot of driving I just don't feel like doing.  I was holding out on chiming in until I knew whether his team made it or not, but since they did, I gotta go support my boy!!  Have fun fishing though guys, should be a real doozy.

Mike, if you lived in Indiana, wouldn't you fish here too????  Love the Ludington area, that's why we bought a trailer on Hamlin 10 years ago.  :)

Room for one, probably two more nonboaters. Anyone want to fish?

Is mchesney fishing this one, by any chance?  On my way home today, I saw a yellow and black Stratos 201 with a Yam 300 on it, and remembered that I saw his at LSC in May.  Didn't know if he was a last minute facebook guy or not.

wellllll  were waiting.   us east siders who did not go.   hope you missed the rain.

Eric

It rained every second we were in the boat.  By the end of weigh in, we were wetter than the fish were.  At least it was a nice warm 55 degree day to fish in the rain all day.  Brett and I had a blast though, and dinner afterwards was a hoot.

Completely miserable day out there, wet, cold, and very tough fishing. Fortunately I got to fish with Cy and still had a good time with him despite the conditions. We tried alot of things that normally produce on White with only two keeper bites for the first 4 hours. Although we did have a handful of bites where they would hit very hard and instantly spit it back out. Cy put a 2 pounder in the boat and I had a 3.5 throw my xr50 at the boat. We were running out of ideas and Cy decided to finish the day in an area that atleast I thought no way any largemouth would bite. Cy proved me wrong and he had 4 solid bites in an hour flipping and managed to put two in the boat. One 3 pounder and another 2 1/4, unfortunately the other two didn't stay buttoned but we got a good look at them and they were prolly over 3. Unfortunately I couldn't contribute to our sack but Cy showed me something new which made up for the bad day.
FISH HARD!!!
