With it being 26 degrees out right now, I thought it would be a good time to see what everybody will be gearing up on to get ready for spring (cause it's just around the corner)  ::)
I'm decking my boat out.  ;D ;D ;D

I want a Power Pole, and a Humminbird gps unit to link up with my new 1197.  No desire for any new rods and reels at the moment.

Minkota Talon, Lowrance sonic hub, Bluewater LED lit kit, Sirius satellite antenna, and if my boss is generous with the christmas bonus, selling my HDS 5 and upgrading to a HDS 8. ;D

Im thinkin its about time to sell the ole astro and get myself a zx225!

And of course, stock up on nemesis jigs! DANG PIKE!

For the boat:

A recessed trolling motor pedal pan.
Also, I'd like to get one of those things that keeps the trolling motor from turning to the right on its own.
A Dol Fin for the motor.
Another seat for the Ranger.

For me:

I'd like to add another St.. Croix Avid spinning rod, and a Shimano Symetre to the arsenal.

Come the fishing shows, I'll be adding a lot of the Nemesis 3" Gobys in Klk color.
They are just great for drop shotting.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Just put on a new Minn Kota Fortrex 101 Trolling motor and 4 bank charger, so the boat is pretty much good to go. I'd like to get a Humminbird and try the side imaging but I don't think I can make that happen anytime soon.

I'll be loading up on Nemesis baits at the fishing show - lots of gobys and sickos. My jig box is full. Brian - I want to get a XL Nemesis hoody too - will those be available at the show?

Some sufix 832 to try, a G Loomis NRX rod and Larry Dahlberg's Clackin Crayfish and Diver Frog

Have you tried tightening the cables on your foot pedal?

Well along with about $800 in tackle I plan on selling all of my rods and reels and picking up:

4 Irod casting rods
2 Irod spinning rods
2 Lamiglas cranking rods from thedude
7 new quantum smoke reels
1 quantum PTiB spinning reel

Thank God I have a understanding wife...LOL

TCook

Think I am just about done with gearing up for next year. Organized and did inventory, restocked all my tackle needs, put new gammy trebles on cranks, new tools and co-angler bag. Found some great deals on two new setups: Dobyns DX742 SF paired with a sustain 2500 and a powell 804cb with a curado E5. Now all I need is to get 9 reels cleaned and purchase some 1000 yrd spools of invisx from a seller on ebay for a nice low price of $59.99 shipped.
FISH HARD!!!

I just want what T COOK got. The sustain 2500 and the 742.

There is nothing new or I need for next year.  So what I decided was that I would go to the Ultimate Fishing Show looking for old lures that are not made any more that I already have two or three of.  I do this mainly because if I lose something that I have used over the years and I am confident that it catches fish, I need to have some spares.  I have bought a lot of stuff off of ebay over the last few years as backups to what I already have.  I will probably buy whatever Wayne has at his booth that is new for 2011.  Other than that I probably will replenish my supply of rattling tube jigs and buy some Gamakatsu treble hooks to put on some of my baits that need hooks replaced.  Other than that I will head to Anglers Marine in Taylor to buy some engine oil for the boat taking my own 5 gallon container as I get a pretty good price per gallon when I do that. Other than that I will clean my reels, wipe down my rods and replace any damaged guides.  Also I will read a lot of articles and books on different techniques that I have already honed as well as some new ones I want to try when the weather breaks.  I see it being not until the end of March until I get the boat out of storage.  In the meantime, I will study charts, maps, and record GPS coordinates so that on my first trip out onto big water be it St. Clair or Erie, I will be prepared to try new spots as well as check out the ones I have already fished.  If I think of anything else I am going to gear up on I will be sure to post it here first.  My goal will be to catch more big bass in 2011 than I did in 2010........and I did catch a lot of big ones in 2010.

Right now, the only thing I want is the use of my leg back. Hopefully, after Mondays surgery, I'll get it. Then when I feel better, the "S" hits the fan. A whole lot of work to do on the boat before the ice melts. Hope I will be able to get around and see some of you at UFS. If not, I plan on going to GR. I'll be at UofM for about a week starting on the 3rd, if anyone feels like visiting.

Waterfoul

BPS Pro Qualifier rain bibs for sure.  Having thedude make me a custom heavy action spinning rod.  Other than that just replenishing soft plastics/hooks/etc...

Getting a KVD cranking rod, tired of losing fish. Would have won a lot of money, Oh well live and learn.

baggerslimm

I'm going to get a hds8, And hopefully a new 109te tolling motor..
04 BassCat Cougar Ftd..

Hooksetter

I'd like to get a 898c si or a 798ci si HD. Other than that I'm all set for next year.

A couple needs for this season for me....

Replace my "coffee grinder" diawa spinning reels.  I'm going back to Shimanos.  Saros maybe?
A crankbait rod.  Probably a Powel.
A jerk bait rod.

Gotta get my stuff organized too.  Probably going to lighten things up again.

Manxfishing

For me

I'm in need of a MH spinning rod and just need to stock up on plasic and hooks
Maybe a few top water baits as well
